converted from capping breech-loading circa 1867, with 22in. tapering round barrel rifled in six grooves marked 'NEW MODEL 1863' at the breech-end, block and blade fore-sight, folding ladder rear-sight, colour hardened receiver with early spring-loaded firing pin, the side of the back action colour-hardened lock marked 'R.S. LAWRENCE PAT, APRIL 12TH 1859' behind the hammer at the top and 'C. Sharp's PAT. OCT 5TH 1852' to the tail, saddle-bar and ring to left hand side, walnut butt-stock, iron furniture, walnut splinter fore-end and one barrel-band
